
Training Courses - Designated Premise Supervisors
BIIAB National Certificate for Designated Premises Supervisor
This qualification is designed for both existing designated premises supervisors, and those who may be required to take up this post in the future, working in any type of licensed premises. The qualification also addresses the practical day-to-day issues involved in running a licensed premises for anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol in licensed premises.
Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:
- the roles and responsibilities of the designated premises supervisor
- the licensable activities carried out in licensed premises
- the requirements of legislation and best practice to support the four licensing objectives how to conduct a risk assessment, and how it is used to underpin the operating schedule
- the relationship between the operating schedule and management controls.
To achieve the BIIAB National Certificate for Designated Premises Supervisor candidates are firstly required to have achieved the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders or possess equivalent knowledge. They must then attend a 1 day course concluding with a short exam of 30 multiple choice Questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
