Spain2uk is a facilitation service set up by the Academy to assist students to find prospective employment opportunites in the British Hospitality Industry across Devon.

What is the service?

Europe2uk works with many employers across Devon and will maintain a database of Employers who wish to recruit staff to work in British hospitality industry.

 

How will the service work?

  • You can contact our office in England.  
  • If you meet the criteria for selection you will be asked to complete the Application Paperwork.
  • Once you have completed the paper work your name will be listed on our database.
  • The Academy will regularly send your details to employers in Devon.
  • You may also be contacted byt he Academy team if your details match the requirements set by the employer. 
  • If you are successful and chosen by the employer you will be required to take up the post within 7 days. 

On your arrival to the UK you will be collected from the airport by a member of the Academy team who will take them to your new employer. Thereafter you will be classed an employee of that employer and will be provided with the same rights and responsibilities as any other employee i.e. contract of employment and rates of pay etc.

The Academy team will remain in regular contact with both you and your employer to assist you if any problems arise.
  

 

What Training Shall I Complete in England?

  • Whilst in the UK, you will be required to undertake an accredited training programme which will provide you with a formal qualification recognised throughout Europe.
  • Once you have settled into your new job, the Academy will arrange an appointment to meet with you and your employer so that you can sign up to a training programme (NVQ) relevent to your occupational area.
  • At this time you will be assigned a course tutor who is there to assist you to achieve your NVQ offer you any information, advice and guidance you need. 
There is no charge for the Training Programme in the UK as this is funded by the Learning & Skills Council (LSC)

 

How much does is cost?

There is no charge to register for the service as it is free. However you are required to pay for the cost of your flight to the UK.

The local airport for students in arrving to work in Devon< England are Exeter and Bristol.

The Employers - Who are they and what can you expect from them? 

Prospective Employers who have registered an interest in accessing this service will have undergone an extensive assessment of their place of work and their live in accomodation by the Academy. Only when we are happy that they meet our standards will we place students into their employment. You can expect the following:-

 - A standard rate of pay for their occupational area 

 

 - A contract of employment  

 

 - Adequate time to complete your chosen training programme
