Level 1 NVQ in Hospitality
This NVQ is designed for those people who:
- are involved in Hospitality as their primary work activity
- are seeking a career in Hospitality and wish to take the first steps towards professional qualifications
- wish to receive recognition for their Hospitality experience
This NVQ would be appropriate for learners who wish to progress to the Level 2 in any hospitality qualification and for those learners who wish to progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
STRUCTURE OF AWARD
(This framework has a total of six routes)
(1) Front Office (2) Housekeeping (3) Food and Drink Service
(4) Quick Service (5) Food Preparation and Cooking (6) Multi-skilled
To achieve a full certificate in Hospitality:
Front Office, Housekeeping and Food and Drink Service
Candidates are required to complete 6 units in total
(2 mandatory units plus 4 optional units)
To achieve a full certificate in Hospitality Quick Service,
Food Preparation and Cooking or Multi-skilled
Candidates are required to complete 7 units in total (2 mandatory units plus 5 optional units).
A NVQ Level 1 takes approximately 6 months to 1 year to complete.

Level 2 NVQ in Multi-skilled Hospitality Services
This NVQ is designed for those people who:
- are involved in Multi-Skilled Hospitality Services as their primary work activity
- are seeking a career in Multi-Skilled Hospitality Services and wish to take the first steps towards professional qualifications
- wish to receive recognition for their Multi-Skilled Hospitality Services experience
STRUCTURE OF AWARD
To achieve a Level 2 Multi-Skilled Hospitality Services NVQ
candidates are required to complete 9 units in total (2 mandatory units and 7 optional units).
A NVQ Level 2 takes approximately 6 months to 1 year to
complete.
This qualification can be obtained as a single NVQ or as part of an Apprenticeship.
