Training Courses - Responsible Retailing

BIIAB Level 1 Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing

This qualification is designed for staff authorised to sell alcohol. The course provides the training in the legal background to this legislation, the importance and consequences of not serving     alcohol to those under-age or those already drunk, as well as an understanding of best practice in all sectors of licensed retail.

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:

Session 1     What is alcohol and how does it affect us?

Session 2    Licensing Law

Session 3    Protection of Children

Session 4     Your Social Responsibilities

Session 5     Recognising Drunkenness and your Duty not to serve

Session 6     Dealing with Alcohol-Related Crime and Conflict

To achieve the BIIAB Level 1 Award in  Responsible Alcohol Retailing
candidates must attend a 1 day course concluding with a short exam of 25 multiple choice questions. The Exam is split into 2 halves and candidates must correctly answer 3 compulsory questions in order to pass the exam.
